Tennent’s Beer Aged with Whisky Oak is a new premium beer from Scotland’s oldest and most successful brewery. LUX were tasked with creating a website for this exciting new product that uniquely combines Scotland’s most iconic drink – whisky.
The Tennent’s Whisky Beer website demanded scalability and flexibility, supporting the addition of new features as the brand and proposition developed. As well as creating an online destination to house content such as blog posts and brewery history, LUX also had to ensure the website was compliant with alcohol legislation; including the deployment of an ‘age gate’ verification process before users entered the site.
With over 50% of web traffic coming from mobile devices, including tablets, it was essential that the site was responsive. With this in mind we designed the site from “mobile up” to ensure a seamless, lightweight experience on hand held devices whilst offering a deeper, more information-rich experience for those using desktops.
We chose to design and build the site in WordPress for scalability and the freedom to roll out new features and functionality, both now and in the future. WordPress is also the perfect host for blog content and allowed us access to excellent plugins such as Yoast, for optimal SEO health.
