Finalists Revealed for The Scottish Business Awards

Supported by the Royal Bank of Scotland, the UK’s largest business dinner has returned and over 100 successful Scottish and international businesses have been shortlisted for the remarkable awards.

With the likes of Mrs Tilly’s, Border Biscuits and James Withers from Scotland Food & Drink receiving nominations, this is certainly the year to celebrate successes within Scottish businesses.

With organisers claiming this year as the ‘most competitive in their five-year history’, we’re certain that this year’s Scottish Business Awards will attract a fantastic turnout.

It’s also been confirmed that Leonardo DiCaprio will be this year’s keynote speaker – a special night for all businesses, entrepreneurs and film buffs in the audience.

The 2016 Scottish Business Awards will take place on the 17th of November at the EICC, Edinburgh.

Top French Chefs Experience Scottish Culinary Excellence

Earlier this week, twenty-three French Master Chefs visited Scotland to experience the very best food and drink that our country has to offer.

During their time here, they visited the likes of the Scottish Salmon Company in Loch Fyne and Loch Fyne Smokery, Shantron Farm and Glengoyne whisky distillery.

With France being our top European food and drink export, this represents an excellent opportunity to show them why and how Scotland is thriving in the food and drink sector. We hope the chefs de cuisine had a fantastic time here in Scotland.

Find out more information on the master chefs’ visit to Scotland  here.

Prince Charles Opens Restaurant in Ballater

Having been badly affected by the floods in December last year, Prince Charles has opened his own restaurant and gift shop in Ballater to attract visitors to the Aberdeenshire village.

Known as the Duke of Rothesay, Prince Charles has named the new venture Rothesay Rooms, which will aim to train young people in the new restaurant and to encourage visitors.

The Highgrove Gift Shop will open at the end of this month, with the restaurant opening in November.

Foodies unite! The BBC Good Food Show is back and what a line-up this year has in store. From the very talented Tom Kitchin to the master of wine Sam Caporn, we’re sure plenty of attendees will be itching to ask their food heroes their culinary queries!

Visitors can also watch the master chefs create delectable dishes live at the Supertheatre, not to mention attending the book signing of the chefs themselves.

As expert baker Mary Berry once said – it’s “a cracking day out”!

The event will take place from the 4th-6th of November at the SECC, Glasgow. You can purchase your tickets here.

And lastly…

To conclude Fish is the Dish National Seafood Week, here’s Kelly & Mhairi having a whale of a time in our new studio kitchen!

We couldn’t resist the oppor-tuna-ty.
